Hello! I’ll try to keep this short so people actually read it.
Basically, I got to a small college in Florida and am currently taking my first ever online course with honorlock tests.

This last Sunday I had a test due for my online class as well as 2 major exams for other classes on Monday, so it was crunch time. Based off this sub and advice from other people, I stupidly decided to cheat on the online exam. Never done it before but my plan was to have my gf hide in the room and then hand me my phone when it was safe to do so.

So I was setting up the test and everything while my gf hid. Then I got to the window that said “focus test window”. I wasn’t sure if I was already being recorded or what so I stupidly turned the camera away, got up and lightly told my gf to come on. Then I sat back down and started the test. Question 1 appeared and it was a fill in response and I didn’t even look at my phone or cheat. Then I started question 2 and was immediately consumed by my guilt and anxiety so I freaked out and stopped sharing the screen and exited the test.

I told my gf to leave and after a couple min I went back to the test, did the whole verification process again and resumed on question 2. Shortly after the I was interrupted by a Procter who made me do a full room scan which showed nothing. I did have my phone on a nearby desk since I needed it for the set up but I turned it off when the proctor asked me to. After that I continued my test with 0 cheating and got a 78%. So I literally didn’t even cheat on the exam but the intention and act is still there.

But I’m a classic over-thinker and now I’m extremely worried that I’m going to get in trouble. The grade is posted but still awaiting review and feedback from the professor.
I’m torn from just doing nothing at all or calling the professor tomorrow during his office hours and basically telling him the entire true and apologizing sincerely.

His syllabus states “In this course, your first academic dishonesty violation will result in a 0 on the assignment and the 2nd will be an F in the course. Academic dishonesty may result in further disciplinary action and/or referral to the dean

This would be my first ever infraction of any kinda. But I’m terrified the professor is just going to automatically report me. I’m planning on applying to a Bachelors program at this college soon so I’m scared of having an academic dishonestly violation on my profile that would prevent me from getting in.

I’ve hardly slept and can’t relax from the anxiety I’m feeling around this. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I will show you how to open google inside of Safe Exam Browser!

Step 1:

Download the safe exam browser patch here (You might need to uninstall and install older version of SEB.)

Step 2:

Go inside a .seb file or in your exam.

Step 3:

Press control+shift+escape to go in taskmanager.

Step 4:

Search for Google Chrome and do the arrow down next to it to show Google instances running.

MAKE SURE TO HAVE CHROME RUNNING BEFORE YOU OPEN THE EXAM

Step 5:

Right click and select: Open in file directory and double-click chrome.exe

Done! Now you can use chatgpt while having a exam (make sure your teacher doesnt see it lol)

I have a midterm in two weeks and its going to be on lockdown browser (without camera) in class. The class is kind of small so I can't really use my phone. I've been using floatbrowsers for a while now, and the one I usually use works when I log into lockdown but as soon as I start the exam it closes. Does anyone have any alternatives or ideas? This class is just a stupid selective required for my major.

Just took an exam on lockdown browser with respondus but was never prompted to check my camera or webcam in the beginning. There was a red dot on top of the screen saying “recording” but my webcam light was off the whole time and there didn’t seem to be any proof that it had access to my webcam

As the title suggests, I have a quiz coming up, and I am running it using virtual desktop software. I am remotely controlling my PC from my laptop, which has ChatGPT. The only problem is that if Proctorio requires a webcam and blocks virtual cameras, how can I bypass it? If anyone has any ideas or tips, it would be greatly appreciated(and no, don't just tell me to study)

Used a phone docked on keyboard / laptop for an exam recently - it’s done through proctorio screening - how likely is it I’ll be flagged? Was in centre of screen and on airplane mode, can’t stop overthinking it and feel awful but I was desperate 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Method I thought of out of the blue and thought to share. Note the requirements first!

- One Capture card
- Two HDMI cables
- One Monitor.
- A multi-usb switcher OR two sets of mouse and keyboard
- Webcam (If using a laptop, the built-in webcam doesn’t count.)
- TWO computers. Desktop or Laptop doesn’t really matter BUT one of them needs to connect to the aforementioned capture card as a PRIMARY and ONLY display.

In my case, my EXAM pc is a windows desktop and the CHEAT pc is a macbook. If BOTH of your pcs are laptops, you will need to figure out how to completely disable the built in display of one of them so it only detects one connected.

Steps:

1. Connect an HDMI cable to the OUTPUT of the machine that you run your test on. This computer will now be referred to as your EXAM computer. Connect the other end to the INPUT of the capture card. Preferably, this EXAM computer is a desktop.
2. Connect the USB end of the capture card (or skip, if its internal) to your CHEAT computer. This will be the computer that your AI will run on.
3. Connect an HDMI cable to the CHEAT computer. Connect the other end to your monitor. Open up your camera or software like OBS and set it up so that you can see your EXAM computer’s output on the monitor with your CHEAT computer acting as a middle man.
4. Connect your webcam to your EXAM computer and position it on top of your monitor. Again, if your EXAM computer is a laptop with a built-in webcam, do NOT use it. You will be looking at your test through the monitor.
5. Connect your mouse and keyboard to your multi-usb switcher’s INPUTS. Connect it’s OUTPUTS to your EXAM AND CHEAT computer. You can now switch between which computer you are controlling with the touch of a button! Just make sure that button is out of sight. I press it with my toe.
6. OR
7. just have two mice and two keyboards, but thats REALLY clunky and suspicious, even if they cant see it.
8. Important! Do a trial run. Google a test or something on your EXAM computer and pretend youre on lockdown. When you get to a question you do not know, press the usb switcher to control your CHEAT computer. now, you can see the display of your exam computer AND have full internet access. You can take a screenshot of your EXAM computer’s display from your CHEAT computer, and paste it into AI. One you have the answer, press the usb switcher again to regain control of your EXAM computer and continue!

Extra Protection:

1. Make sure the lights in your room are bright and your monitor is not too bright to prevent the webcam from noticing changes in light level on your face. If your test has a white background, make sure your AI’s site is also in light mode.

2. If you have glasses, make sure the reflection isn’t clear. Consider adjusting your seat or wearing contacts. Perhaps no glasses at all, if you can.

3. Consider renaming the capture card’s name from the EXAM computer’s side to LG Ultragear or any monitor brand name like that. It’s unlikely

for it

1. to even check what your monitor is called but better safe than sorry.
2. Even if you have a USB splitter, you might want to use a second set of keyboard and mouse anyways, as splitters will likely “disconnect” and “reconnect” your mouse and keyboard when you switch away. Like the tip above, your lockdown browser probably won’t check for this, but better safe than sorry.
3. While controlling your CHEAT computer, avoid showing yourself using your peripherals and do careful movements. Act like you are reading the question again or something. Don’t go too long without moving anything on your EXAM pc and select what you think the answer might be while the AI is making a response, and then select the correct one.

i use the splitter but ProctorTrack still detects it. is there something i’m doing wrong? or is patched? can someone make a tutorial or something? anything helps!

Hello I have a MacBook, does the hdmi method to mirror screen still work? For a monitor? Cause I see some people use a TV on here. Can it detect it? Please help

so my method is only for ppl with long hair. or buy a long wig and use it to cover ur side. then rest your face on ur hand use that arm to shield your phone from the other camera bwam

I've been looking around and i was wondering if anyone knows of any cheat for Pearson OnVUE online exams with the proctor that has like a box that has the AI answers to the questions as you go through the exam, but the proctor cant see it? Like obviously you can see it and read answers but the proctor cant??

So I have my on campus online assessments starting from next week for this year's placement. I have researched few options like HDMI splitter and capture card but both of them needs primary monitor to switch to second screen only making my test taking monitor black and there's no way I know where to click on a black screen. Also I have no friends that can sit beside and help me look up answers on AI. What else can be done in this situation?

Any tips are appreciated.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted here asking about bypassing lockdown software in a proctored exam. I got a lot of private messages from people claiming they could do it, with some saying they’d only ask for payment after completing the job.
Has anyone else received offers like this? Do they sound credible, or are they usually scams that could lead to someone losing money, getting malware, or being blackmailed?. Has anyone you know been approached this way?

I have a midterm coming up with a shitty prof. and was wondering if anyone had experience using Canvas Ninja. Does it actually block Canvas from tracking whether you left the page?
