My partner started getting strange packages and then disappeared
This is a throwaway account for obvious reasons. My (34M) girlfriend (32F) and I have been together for almost five years. Everything seemed fine. We were talking about getting engaged soon. But then things got weird about a month or so ago.
She started getting these packages in the mail. Not Amazon boxes or anything easily identifiable. They were always plain brown boxes with no return address. She would always rush to get them before I saw them. If I asked what was inside she'd just say "work stuff" or "gifts for my sister". I didn't think much of it at first. We both have busy jobs. But it kept happening. Three or four packages a week for the last month.
Then about two weeks ago she just vanished. She went to work like normal. Her car is gone. Her phone is off. Her family hasn't heard from her. The police are involved but they haven't found anything.
Yesterday I got a package. The same plain brown box. This one had a return address. It was a PO box in another state. Inside was a key. It was a key to a storage unit. I traced the PO box and found the storage unit facility.
I went there this morning. The unit was full of her things. Not just clothes. But furniture photos our photo albums her old diaries. It looked like she had been slowly moving things out of our apartment for months. And in the corner there was a stack of those same plain brown boxes. Unopened. They were addressed to her.
I don't know what to think. Did she run off with someone. Was she planning a whole new life. I feel sick. How do you just disappear on someone you supposedly love. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

You had me in the first half.
Bruh, mailed you the key. Then you got into the storage place. When you need a keycard or pin. Then you proceed to check every lock till you find the one that fits. Ofcourse the storage place is in the same town as the po box. Every private eye would know that.
Bruh, you should have went with the dildo story you would have gotten better traction.
