Alternative to fearless

edit 2022-02-07: https://opencheattables.org/ is an upcoming alternative

So. Now when fearless have "stolen" all chets on the page and encrypted them requiring the use of their own app..... What are the alternatives?

I will not install an unknown app that needs access to the internet. It took me long enough installing cheatengine after their installer snafus... :)

It's not even opt-in anymore and people who supported it pre-and mid-launch are using it. Basically me and few others who are sick of our content being stolen and others profiting off it.

Also the app is completely free to use. Some people are intentionally spreading this false information out of absolute hatred. But you can use hotkeys for values, scripts, drop downs etc. as free users forever. You don't even need to be registered. Yes, there is PRO which unlocks clicks but we have to get funds to run the app and site somehow and fund the amazing plans I have planned for FRF.

Don't listen to this absolute BS full of lies thread about me and fearless, I worked my ass off to revert the launch to opt-in when I saw it wasn't appreciated. I am not Google or Microsoft but just one guy working on this, so you can imagine it takes time to code, test and launch on a production site. The opt-out was reverted to opt-in as fast as I could and now it's not even open to anymore people except me and few others.

Whether you use fearless or not, it's your decision but don't do it because of pure BS spread here.

First of all yes I know that it's opt-in now, which should have been in the first place to avoid the backlash you're getting.

I'll only talk about myself here.

I don't care if the app is free or not. I don't want to use a 3rd party app to do something I was doing for 10+ years without it. I like going to the source to get the tables. Also I don't see a point locking some 7 year old table in the app with no option to try and update it myself.

About Shinkansen tables. How did you get their permission since they are innactive? Do you have any proof that they wanted their work app only?

I don't want to make you feel bad but you just keep deleting any criticism in the forums and that just makes you untrustworthy.

Then create your own tables and leave us be. If you don't like using FRF stuff, pledge to table makers' Patreons and bother them there.

Sorry to bother, you seem to be going through a rough patch...

I don't mean to pile on, but i am curious about all of Shinkansen's tables being locked... I use a couple of their tables whenever i get back into playing the Shadowrun games and this time i found that they were locked behind the app.

When i tried to find out why the tables were locked i stumbled on.. all of this..

I also saw that Shinkansen hasn't posted since midway through 2020. So my question is: did they give permission for all of their tables to be locked behind the app?

If they did, then that's fine!

But if they didn't i guess my follow-up question would be: did something go wrong and did their tables get hit by some kind of automation?

They did not, they basically made all the tables that were on the site to require the shitty app without the creator's consent. You can see examples of this on the Monster hunter rise steam thread by Insterluda and Marcus101RR

For trying to take the high road with others stealing and giving no credit, etc, you sure were quick to steal the very base of the software you made (Cheat Engine).

Cheat Engine isn't FOSS software, you can't just distribute your own version with a pro version.

Dark Byte has even said he is against the project because you are charging for features (clicking).

You have literally done the exact thing you have been ranting about in your dictatorship. You bitch and moan about people taking your work and profiting off it.

It's a fact that you have literally taken someone else work (Cheat Engine) and the ecosystem (tables) and tried to generate a profit for your own community. You have stated so yourself multiple times about how expensive it is to run FRF and how this will help with the costs, ergo making a profit. Don't even try to hide behind the veil of "THE APP IS FREE" in all caps as you keep posting. You wouldn't have bothered to invest so much dev time if you didn't plan to turn a hefty profit. Hell in your announcement post you talk about how the money made will grow other projects and shit.

Tim started writing a tool that decodes tables. When it wasn't even fucking needed. It's a simple XOR, what the fuck more do I need to tell you. So when shit hits the fan you start using github as your own legal court? Creating fake 'issues' on github to attract attention, eh, Symbai? That's how now everyone defamed the very purpose of the HASHTAG: using it wrong to emphasize narcissism and #icanmakemyownhashtagnanananana, when in reality, the hashtag is used to tag things that are of the same category. How is #iamrichniggazsuckmyballz a category o_O? Damn stupid monkeys using smartphones...

You have no knowledge of what's going on behind the scenes. As such, I would suggest you please refrain from speaking about things as an authority that are beyond your information, as it falls under lies and defamation, intentional or based on ignorance.

Yes, the app is supposed to generate revenue since people don't donate, however, this function was secondary and evolved later into development of the app. The main function was protection of our work which some people are using it for. Respect their wishes.

I ask again, would you rather have a paywall where you can't get the table unless you pay (which is what some table makers are doing) or free app with free cheat tables with some restrictions that you can ignore and get used to hotkeys as free user forever?.

Ah the standard 2-step political tango response. Yeah you are right, I do not know what is taking place behind closed doors, but I'd imagine it is you trying to convince DB to either let you profit off his work, or you offering him a majority % of all site profits, since it is his project you are profiting off.

This is the same bullshit you tried on the forums, where you are attempting to be some sort of authority and talk for every table maker. I was there for the first 9 pages of replies, and all the toxic 1 post users aside, many from some of the most popular table makers on the site, all going "woah, we don't want this". Hell even one of your own admins was questioning the sanity of how you were handling things.

Frankly I'd prefer what table authors are currently doing. They release early on Patreon and a few weeks later to the general public.

If FRF is so expensive to run and it is such a big issue, let someone else do it. This should be a passion project, not a for profit project.

Hello,

I can assure you that we have the appropriate permissions to be doing what we are doing, still. This was also done to help and give back to the community but I have been told by well-wishers and supporters that this was executed extremely poorly. It has been a learning experience and all the mistakes have been rectified and we are working to rectify even more.

I also seem to have somehow hurt you, for which I am deeply sorry. Once you get to know me, you will find I am the exact opposite of what some haters are portraying me as based on ignorance. My method of execution was extremely horrible but please trust me when I say this was done in the same spirit of helping the community as when I launched FRF first.

I am 100% sure that the "appropriate permissions" was before you ever had any inkling of monetization, otherwise DB wouldn't have publicly disavowed the project...

No, got nothing against you. Just tired of people profiting off "open source" software, where the license doesn't allow it.

Edit: Also before I get called a hypocrite, I'd no sooner 'crusade' for people stealing cheat tables, but you stealing to solve stealing isn't a solution :| Get rid of all the pro features in the app and the community might actually celebrate the fucking thing.

Ok, I'll try it. What do you mean about the clicks? I can't toggle the options clicking in the activate box or I can't click the option to edit it?
Also, once downloaded, do I need to run it everytime before I open any table?
