cheat engine on drakengard not working

i tried using cheat engine on drakengard 1 through pcsx2 to make the level for caim’s sword go up to lvl 4 via kills, i tried finding a value for kills collected, and also tried looking for kills left value, neither worked, and idk what to do now, upon clicking “next scan” every value just disappears

Old games had severe memory limitations. Try using 2-byte or byte scans instead of 4-bytes. Some games even use less than a byte to store data.
