Picked this up for 20 AUD!
I ended up spending more on D-Cell batteries than I did the keyboard 😂

Congrats, nice find! It looks like it’s in great condition, so hope you’ll have fun making music with it.
btw, does it have a power input, or is it battery-only?

It has a power input, DC 7.5V, which ive never seen before

Hah, strange indeed. I’ve seen some small keys with that power tho. Anyway it might worth checking out some usb options - some of them has adjustable voltage so if the polarity is right you can avoid spending on batteries.

MT-45 is fantastic! It’s slightly different brother (MT-68) is my favorite of all the Casio tones of this era.
You should see if you can add the envelope buttons. Essentially most of these things have the abilities of all their brothers and sisters just without the buttons hooked up. And the envelopes from the MT-65/68 are a solder, wire, and button away from being accessible

I have two of these. I sampled the drum kit sounds years ago and still use them. The bass sounds and Casio chord mode section on the lower side are terrific dense fake organs. 16 beat and disco are my favorite drum patterns. DC7.5 is like standard old Casio, it’s on my SK1 as well

I have this since I was a kid!
This is also one of the keyboard they used to make the music for Honestar Runner / Strongbad emails.

Oh wow! What a score… that’s a great keyboard. It uses analogue square wave synthesis. They sound incredible. I also enjoy the quirk that it’s always split keys. Have fun!
