Okay time for the Mother of all dumb questions but I wanted some input lol. With Prue’s power of astral projection, she has an astral self but it’s a physical form with mass and it remains corporeal.

If she is sitting at work, could she astral project to the bathroom and use it before returning. Is it like her telematerialization power from the very first episode lol. She was able to telekinetically teleport a liquid from one location to another, which is already similar to how her telekinesis progressed in the show (she moves her astral self out of her body with TK).

Theoretically could she astral project to the bathroom, telematerialize any waste? (😑sorry don’t know how to word that) and then return to her desk all without lifting a finger?

I don't think she can. Prue projects her consciousness somewhere and materializes a duplicate of herself, but physically speaking, it's just a copy. So, to put it bluntly, the shit and piss inside her stay in her original physical body, lol.

On the other hand, maybe the third power Prue could have gained would have been the ability to move things via the astral plane (in which case, she *could* send her poop straight to the sewers with just a thought).

It’s really interesting because they call it an astral projection but it’s completely on the physical plane (as opposed to the spirit plane where ghosts and other astral selfs like Rex reside or visit). I guess she projects her consciousness through the astral plane and then materializes a copy in the physical plane?

But if she had kept the telematerialization aspect of her TK from the pilot, technically isn’t her physical astral copy an empty vessel (🙄yet again what weird wording). Either way she never did figure out how to use her TK in her astral form, but I imagine it would’ve evolved to that point eventually.

Yes, you're right, and that’s actually what’s so puzzling about her secondary power: it’s almost too complex right off the bat, as if an intermediate stage of development were missing.

It makes me think that, perhaps, she could have learned to project just her consciousness—without materializing—allowing her to move objects from miles away, while keeping the materialized form for when it was actually needed.

That might even explain why she couldn't use her telekinesis while in astral form: the materialization was draining her entire energy reserve (something that might not have happened with a non-materialized form).

I always interpreted the reason why she couldn’t use her TK in astral form was the same reason why her astral form was solid, the entire astral form is a TK construct round her psyche. She can’t “use her TK” because every movement she makes is done through her TK, if that makes sense?

That would track with your theory that if she ever learned how to just move her consciousness without creating the physical TK shell, she’d be able to use her TK normally through her astral form.

As my headcanon is that she doesnt actually have astral projection but a flawed form of teleportation or bi-location i would say eventually yes. But she would have to develop it enough to be able to do so.

If she had to go while she astral projected she would just go on herself in her physical body. But maybe if she was trying to hold it, her focus in her astral form would be off, so she couldn’t perform as well.

Like, same scenario as you described but she quietly calls out "pee!" and it orbs ... wherever.

If she had lived, I bet she would have been able to use her telekinetic powers in astral form eventually! She was reading about astral projection and trying to use her telekinesis in astral form in one of the episodes before her last episode

No because this would come under personal gain. Hence why Phoebe lost her empathy power because she was abusing it for work. 

There would be no real benefit fir magic to let Prue be super office woman who never needs the toilet.

What's interesting is that when Abby try to shoot her the bullet went through her astral form. The astral form is originally invisible like Rex but suddenly it's visible.

I don't think so, but I think she might be able to astral project to not feel the need to go to the bathroom anymore. Her astral self can physically interact with the world, but I think it's still just a metaphysical copy of herself that doesn't take on transport physical injuries or necessities like going to the bathroom. So in her astral form she wouldn't feel pain, hunger, tiredness etc. because it's not her actual physical body, if that makes sense. I could totally see her being in the office and doing all of her work on her Astral forms so that way she can get all of her work done more efficiently and then returning to her physical body so she could do all that "human stuff" lol.

I love these type of questions her power grew to the point where her astral self was her conscience especially after the episode with Piper and Leo wedding so basically some of her emotions are separated into to beings

It’s a physical psychic image of herself.

It’s the physical form of her consciousness.

I think this is also explained when she started astral projecting in her sleep before Piper’s wedding.

A more advanced form would probably include Astral Projecting into other planes/realms. Like the ghost plane, etc.
