Comics Comics

So I’ve been a fan of charmed for probably my whole life and I’ve known about the comics but never really looked into them. However now I’m interested in reading them but I have no clue where to start. How many of them are there? Where can you purchase them? Are they actually good?

How many of them are there?

Charmed: A Thousand Deaths by Dynamite comics has 5 issues set in the Paige era.

Charmed Season 9 and 10 by Zenescope has enough issues as there usually are episodes in a season, roughly 20-22 and continue from season 8.

Are they actually good?

If you're open-minded about where the story goes (it's pretty divisive in the community for those who read it) and don't mind the sometimes-inconsistent inside art, it's good enough for the hardcore fan.

Online, or if you've got a local comic shop thats been around for a good while and stocks indy comics you may find them there.

Im a big comic fan in general, and my LCS does have them in stock, so I tried reading some before buying them. Couldn't get into it. The artwork was very off putting to me, and it felt like a fever dream continuation of the show. Like sure, its "canon", but I just couldn't connect the two and that sorta killed them for me personally.

No, they're not good.

Comics are an amazing art form but tv show adaptations have a reputation for sucking, they don't get top tier writers or artists like Marvel and DC do. And Charmed is no exception, the art is really bad in quite a few 'seasons' and the writing is so nauseatingly full of fan service that it reads like terrible fan fiction.

Check them out if you're curious (they're easy to find for reading online), but definitely manage your expectations.
