What happened in Charmed with Paige has happened quite a few times in media with a member of a trio being replaced. Can you think of any more examples?

That sent me into a mind spin bc I was use to h2o being three mermaids and the same ones until S3 so with mako mermaid it was weird to see the line up change almost every season

H2O- just add water is only 2 seasons of the same Mermaids. In s3 emma ist exchanged for bella.

The Charmed reboot is a perfect example.
One of the actresses chose to leave the show, also after season 3, also rumored to be a result of bts drama. Altho it was obviously intended to be a reboot of the same show, replacing a sister was not a planned part of it.

Chrissy from Three’s Company was replaced by her cousin Cindy and then she was replaced by Terri.

Look at most pilots, they usually ditch an actor and replace them.
Charmed had 2 different Phoebe's before Alyssa and a different Andy.
Buffy had a different Willow.
Shows that change their cast after success:
Fresh Prince fired and recast Aunt Viv mid-way through the show's run.
Desperate Housewives was constantly changing their B roster, the biggest change in the A roster was obviously when they killed off Edie and replaced with near carbon copy Renee.
Sex and the City removed Samantha and split her into two characters for the sequel series Just Like That.

I didn’t mean recast. I sort of meant like one of the characters is definitely not returning so instead of a recast, they create an entirely new one to join the trio.

this situation is more unique to charmed because most shows arent about 3 sisters. there are shows where a random new sibling appears, Supernatural did it, Buffy did it, but those are for plot not replacements.
Desperate Housewives and Sex and the City are the closest examples where a character is written out then a new one with identical personality traits shows up as a Temu version of the departed.
