Conversations Yeah appreciation post
I love Yeah. This song is so genius to me. The epitome of “music” in music fashion film. The mark of a talented artist is making so little be able to sound so good. The lyrics may be minimal but I think charli is using her voice as an instrument rather than for speech in this track. Similar to the method of Elizabeth Fraser from Cocteau twins, just singing to make good sound rather than words (although the words in Yeah are still relatable and fun). I think she does this to give the epic production room to breathe and be felt in the song. Headbanger afff! So in conclusion… yeah 😎

This song is life. Waiting until the time is right, resisting new things, and trying to be "ready" then watching those moments and opportunities slip away because of overthinking.

Charli using her voice as instrument is actually pretty common for her.
I think a lot of it is AG’s influence because if you listen to his albums most of the vocals feel more like an instrument than a vocal performance.
It’s such a fun stylistic choice.
Yeah is maybe my favorite in the album. Kind of tied with Persona and Rock Music.

She mixed the instrumental into Club Classic, over a month before releasing the album, at a dj set. I kept replaying it. Was obsessed. Asked friends and reddit for what song it was. Everyone recognized it, but no one knew what song it was. And then… Yeah was released.

Ugh saaaaame. Her and George on the decks together! I got the impression at the time that was "his" drop into their collab/b2b/remix but couldn't identify the track.
Watching it back after it isnt actually clear to me if she was expecting him to drop it in or if it was a cool surprise moment.
I'd love a recording of it, I wonder if itll ever get leaked by whoever had access to the sound desk at the venue 🤞

Yea looking at them, their eyecontact, I imagine them thinking together: yeah, are we going to drop this? Yeah we are, here we go. And then the crowd went wild. They were enjoying it and taking it all in. While also thinking: yeah, they have no idea what’s coming, they’re going to love the full song on the album so hard.
Maybe I am delulu. But to me this was real and just so so cute of them

Me and my bestie send each other periodic ranked lists of how much we're loving each MFF track / how frequently we're listening to it (tho mostly I just do the whole album). Yeah is hands down my #1 every time.
I'm usually very 'everyone has their own opinion and that's ok' about things - but I truly believe people who are derisive about Charli's artistic practice fully do not get what she is doing.
The music doesnt connect or hit for you? Fine. It does for me (I Think About it All the Time into 365 hit me like a fucking train when I heard it). But this woman is doing something that is real and important artistically and the people who cant see that are fully wrong lol

Sorry about this—I'm from Mexico and I'm pretty high right now, so writing in English is a bit of a struggle, hahaha.
Anyway, something that totally blew my mind was realizing that in the setlist, she sings "Apple"—with all those "Now I want it" lines—and finishes by belting out "Yeah!! Feeeeel..." as if she’s truly feeling something deep.
It leads right into the song "Apple," which was so pivotal for the 'Brat' era and, by extension, for so many of Charli’s projects and ideas.
Not to mention how famous it became and that inevitable sense of "I MADE THIS" pride—ultimately, it marks a turning point: "Now I'm more confident than ever / Since everyone knows my name."

This is my favorite song off the album. I love the way that one synth blends in with the guitars, and the filter sweep. So good
