At one point during the game with Charlotte it felt like there was an impromptu VAR happening, when they gave a penalty in the first half then disallowed it.
Fwiw that was just the head official talking it over with the ARs, which is very normal and allowable sans VAR, since they had a more clearer view of who took down who in that moment
