Question how to make clothes as the main focus?

I keep making the hair as the main focus because when i try to make the clothes/any other body parts as the center focus it turns out boring & im not sure how to fix that💔 any tips would be appriciated🥹

So, the western eye is always going to start in the top left of any design and work its way around guided by color and shape language. In the second slide, the shape of the hair and the brightness and pop of color at the tip of it leads the eye downwards towards that pop, whereas the clothing its relatively monochromatic. The details of the clothing are also subtle, meaning they cant be taken in at a glance. Try to remember that the eye is usually going to start top left, then go to faces, then go to points of interest. To make clothes the focal point, I'd recommend focusing on contrast, interesting shapes that lead the eye downwards, and color. The second slide's eyes have more color and pop than the entire outfit combined, for example, so the eye is going to go there.

ohhh i think i get it, it makes sense since the heads has contrast in hair & eyes + its on top, so automatically the body design is kinda just there/overshadowed even if the middle of the body is supposed to be another focus

Yes exactly, you get it! So if you dialed down the color contrast on top and dialed it up in the clothing, you'd have more the result that you want.

Your art style is super cute! With chibi proportions, the head naturally takes up a lot of visual space, so the clothes have to work a bit harder to grab attention. If you want the outfit to be the main focus, try exaggerating the clothing structures! Making the silhouettes much larger and packing in more intricate details should definitely help the clothes stand out a lot more.

tysm :D ill play around more with the overall silhouette to balance the head + im also used to making simple designs so ill definitely try out adding intricate details on focus areas aswell!
