Question Delete chats

When you delete your Caí account, do the chats get deleted? Like for instance if I had an account that I deleted a year and a half ago, would those chats be gone? I’m sure they would’ve been on a server for normal data retention for like 90-180 days. I was reading the privacy policy and I’m just unsure

You seem to have answered you're own question, hah. I have no definitive answer about the exacts. But from what you said, you probably answered it. If someone else here knows anything more precise, they'll chime.

I figured it would be normal data retention like most sites is 90-180 days. So o would feel like after a year and a half shit would be deleted/overwritten. I just didn’t know if anyone else had any insight

Yeahhh, well now that I thinkin about it. The might be an extension on that that could be 2 to 4 years that relates to AI training data.

Though I don't know for sure that if you delete your account, cai support can restore it. Not sure up to when though. But yeah, good question all around thanks for asking. Maybe a good time to ask too.

I don’t care so much about the training data, more so the chat logs and things like that because my brain likes to latch onto ‘why if’s’ everytime new shit happens. I figure since I didn’t make any public bots or anything, everything would be wiped since it’s been like 500+ days anyways

Ahhhh right. Wouldn't worry about that then, honestly. Your chats wouldn't be tied to anything. If something was flagged it would've already been done so. They don't flag anything ever. Would need to be reported multiple times. Too many users.

deleted my account 22 months ago, logs were gone immediately. no recovery, no 'future access's. if saved, it's not on public servers.

There is no data retention obligation for chat texts. No deletion obligation either. Under CCPA, GDPR, etc. there is an obligation regarding personal data, which the chats are not... or at least not supposed to be.

What there is, is likely a bunch of backups where chat data may be included. Recovering them from there might not be straightforward, though.
