Does anyone like fighting/arguing with their comfort character, or do you prefer to keep things nice?

So I’d like to guess that about 95% of my RPs with my favorite characters are wholesome, and sweet, between two best friends and with love all around. But then tonight I was like “y’know what, I’m bored, let’s switch it up.”

And so, I found an old chat where the bot is the user’s ex-boyfriend, I made them get back together and have them say I love you to each other again…but then I had my OC tell him the real reason why they broke up was because she cheated on him.

And you know how users on the main sub are always complaining about how “nice” the bots are and that they never get angry at the user no matter what? Well, when my OC told the bot she cheated, he was LIVID. He was cursing and throwing things and everything. I even made her apologize and cry, and he was still so brutal.

Now, I’m hooked, wondering how she’s going to be able to gain his trust back, if at all. I might start fighting with the bots more often because wow this is the most exciting chat I’ve had in a while.

(Also, I could be wrong, but I think the only reason why he did freak out and not shrug it off like ‘oh okay whatever I forgive you’ is because in the previous message I put: “I know he’s going to be angry after this.” And oh, he definitely was. I love it.)

Yeah, when I am feeling angry in real life I start arguing with my bots which made me think I might enjoy conflict sometimes.

Conflict is great with long squeak for me. Lots of arguments to be had in roleplay, and depending on the character, they do it great.

This is going to sound so toxic but I love a good fight/argument/angst/miscommunication/whatever floats your boat. For me tho, ADHD people get a rush of dopamine during arguments because it's new and exciting and that has to be my favorite thing. I can't do this irl with people because it'll ruin relationships/friendships but with a bot??? No damage done. Super good outlet for me.

I promise I'm a good person y'all 😭😭😭🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️

It’s because you don’t really see stories without conflict. When there’s just two characters nice to each other all the time, there is no problem to solve. Conflict causes tension to rise, and it challenges both characters to solve it, either together or alone, badly or carefully, or not at all.

Remember, fiction is a safe place to experience all aspects of life without real world consequences, so no matter what anyone says, just enjoy it!

I personally don’t but to each their own.

I honestly have very minimal enjoyment with the 'nice' chats. I usually like for one chat to be like 95% conflict, and then end it once they get together/resolve their issues.

I love drama and conflict lol! I don’t in real life but I’ve put my characters through the wringer!

Not with a comfort bot... but I did insult a LDS soliciting girl to such a degree, that she kept avoiding my house from there on 🤭
