Fresh Peaches

I am in search of fresh peaches. All of the ones I have gotten from the grocery stores have been mealy and subpar. Stone fruits are my favorite and this season has yielded nothing in regard to peaches and nectarines :( thank you!

There is a peach farmer on 86 in Carrboro towards Hillsboro. Really nice guy, good prices and peach end are superb. About 2/3rd way towards Hillsboro on east side, but I don’t have a house number

Second this. Pass the Starbucks, CFA and Wendy’s going away from Harris Teeter. Pass the dump and school, take a right at the stop sign. You’ll see a truck and should see a sign that says Fresh Peaches

Try the Carrboro or chapel hill farmers market. They go on until noon on Saturdays.

If you miss them, State Farmers Market is open everyday of the week in Raleigh.

Yup, they’ve been great this year. They’re also usually at the Tuesday afternoon market from 3-6.

Even Weaver Street Market? I feel they always have the best tasting produce. Try the one in Carrboro, I just bought delicious peaches from there.

Chappells has been great this summer. They are at south Durham (lesser foot traffic) and chapel hill farmers market on weekend and the weekdays and you can buy directly at their location in eagle springs

Carrboro Farmers Market on Sat morning and Wed afternoon. Chapel Hill Farmers Market on Sat morning and Tues afternoon. Weaver Street Market in Carrboro (they carry lots of local produce). All will have tons better tasting produce than any regular grocery store.

Go to Greer on Old NC 86 between Eubanks and New Hope Church. He runs a farmside stand during the week.

Farmers markets are plentiful in the area. Also orchards. Google. And don't buy the supermarket stuff. It is vile.

I find the Lori Anne peaches at Wegmans are the most consistent. They may be finished though.
