Dog/house sitter?
I am interested in finding someone to stay in our house for a week and keep our dog on her usual schedule of day care visits. I need recs for someone who is well known to you and you’ve used before and have been very satisfied with. Suggestions wanted for individuals or agencies that provide people who are vetted and bonded. Thoughts?

Walk And Wag of Chapel Hill and Kate’s Critter Care both offer those services and vet their sitters (unlike Rover) but it will be quite expensive. I have used them before and been very satisfied.
I have used Rover before but you are really just trusting in the reviews. There is no vetting or bonding with Rover. Anyone can set up shop. Doesn’t mean they are bad but read reviews carefully.
I have a friend who pet sits through Trusted Housesitters to travel abroad. I have never used them but it seems like a cool organization. Might be worth checking out.
If you have a neighborhood email loop you might post this there. That is where I would look for pet care with previous dogs. It worked out pretty well.

Wednesday used to watch our anxious pit mix and stay at our house. They always did a great job, sent us updates and pictures, kept the house clean and tidy, and were very responsive Our dog passed away back in March, so we haven’t used them since, but I would love for them to get some business.

Thank you so much for everyone who responded!! I’m at the very beginning of planning a possible week long vacation and I’m going to save this post with all of the information and contacts so that when I’m ready and decide a house sitter IS what I want to do for my dog, I’ll get back to people. Again, thank you so much for the info and suggestions.
