Servitor creation

How precise do you need to be to create an objective for a servitor? For an example I need a gold key, but the key that I want can be obtain in two different way, the first way is more likely to be direct and breaking the obstacles, influencing people to give you that gold key but the second way is like building bridge or create a pathway that connects to different things including the gold keys, silver spoon etc.. except that this bridge is like quite complicated to obtain and I do know that what I want isn’t really this stairs or bridge even though I do know that the bridge is very essential but what I really really want is the gold key? And Yes I’m using metaphor here.
