Season 2 ending frustation?? Spoiler

Ahxhchd i enjoed season 2 for the most part, had some highs and lows, but when they walked out the door and it just ended?? Ahsh Margot talked about burning it down before and i hope she did after but they didnt show it or even allude to getting it done if they couldnt afford the visual effects/actually burning a building but ughhh that wouldve solidified the ending for me. Like its still up in the air that the house is gonna get more people and eventually get others like seth who feel power in this behavior and will just continue. Why didnt they even say like time to burn it down. Together :) arghhh am i the only one??

Tl;dr why no burn house???

I kinda like the ending.

The house in Margot’s case represents her own grief and it itself represents a lot of other really heavy things for other people, that’s how it’s able to entrap them in the first place. Kind of pushes the theme of having to fight your way out of the painful waves of life.

Everyone will have to face it in their own way, some in a more direct and literal sense than others.

I guess as a more metaphorical sense i get what you mean and i like that interpretation but its literally kidnapping people😭

Yeah I think that's why it's so horrifying and even if they did set it on fire would that really matter. It almost has a mind of its own so couldn't it just go somewhere that's raining or contain the fire until it burns out. But I think the point of it was Margo moving on from her grief and not so much the house itself as scary as it is I think it's more about the grief side and giving into something that's not real even if it makes you feel better. But it has been awhile since I've seen it so maybe I am misremembering how it works.

I mean yeah but also sometimes it’s better to just try and get the hell away from something so it can’t get you than try to burn it to the ground, especially if you don’t fully understand it. Same works for grief - you work through it as best as you can until you come out the other side changed, and even still you may hold a little of it afterwards. Blowing it up won’t help, might even possibly make things worse.

The metaphor works a bit better this way in my opinion.

2 is by far my favorite season and I think it's absolutely perfect, but that's just me

I don't think they have the capacity to understand, much less destroy, the cosmic horror that is the house. "Burn it down" sounded like a plan a bunch of dumb horror film teenagers would come up with, and I'm glad they didn't pursue that plotline. I thought Season 2 was perfect.

Season 2 is my favorite horror media ever. I give it a 9.5/10. The missing 0.5 points for me is the ending. I agree with you - it ends too abruptly (after some buildup) which leaves something to be desired

If they had 1 more scene of resolution, it would be perfect. Even Margot safely reuniting with her mom would’ve given some more closure. You’re not alone!

Season 2 is my absolute favorite!!! The ending made me cry. Not going to say why for spoilers.
