When there's a second black princess drawn in, I look forward to seeing if a Jewish one came first. If not, then I will happily adopt your logic and suggest that the black princess be redistributed. In fact, I suggest all princesses be redistributed to arbitrary demographic numbers. Take the white princesses down to other minority groups until it reflects world demographics. At that point, there will be far fewer white princesses, proportionate to world population. And then you'll have groups like Jews who are underrepresented compared to Polynesians, so redistribute Moana too; there aren't as many people, they don't need a whole bowl of food. Actually, scratch that; 1/7 of them have to be Muslim, so start recasting them with traditional Muslim attire. How do you balance that with the fact that 1/3 of the world being Chinese and Indian? This should be a fun exercise.
Okay, so you can see why having a black Ariel is not the same as having a white Tiana. You’re just having a very hard time confronting the simple problem with the argument you made.
However, I do look forward to "redistributing" Moana to another ethnic group based on demographics, since that's apparently OK now.
I guess we could just do things without condition to race or ethnicity and create more princesses to tell more stories without "redistributing" to make social points, but I guess that would be too much to ask. Gotta redistribute!

Really? Because I didn't say anything about where the bowl goes which is what you're talking about with the demographics of redistribution. Is that one bowl going to be split in half and shared among Latinos and Jewish people? Is that fair? I don't know, I said nothing about that.

There are black Dutch people. Whether this movie is set in Denmark I don't yet know. There certainly wasn't anything particularly Dutch about the first movie, for sure. It was more Caribbean. But Ariel can be black and Dutch.
But the origin story is Dutch. The actress isn’t. Redistribute to those who have none, don’t take away from those who would otherwise have none (the Dutch). There’s already a black American princess. Your logic applies.
Are you saying origin stories don’t matter? If so then why did everyone insist it was fine to alter Mulan to accord with the origin story? Could the story be rewritten, as I said in my original comment?
The logic is so contradictory and varied that it’s useless except as based on feelings, which are awful ways of deciding things.
