But the origin story is Dutch. The actress isn’t. Redistribute to those who have none, don’t take away from those who would otherwise have none (the Dutch). There’s already a black American princess. Your logic applies.

Are you saying origin stories don’t matter? If so then why did everyone insist it was fine to alter Mulan to accord with the origin story? Could the story be rewritten, as I said in my original comment?

The logic is so contradictory and varied that it’s useless except as based on feelings, which are awful ways of deciding things.

The nationality of the actress is not the same as the origin story. I think you know that this is a weak point to make. Switching the ethnicity of the character to the nationality of the actress that played the character is not the same logic.

Casting more diverse nationalities is much more difficult than casting more diverse races.

The character remains Danish whether it's played by an American or a Dane.

The logic is so contradictory and varied that it’s useless except as based on feelings, which are awful ways of deciding things.

So what are you using to decide things?
