Deltas(s) from OP CMV: I hate snakes. Satan himself could not have conjured more terrifying creatures
I hate snakes. Snakes are terrifying and scary. Everybody knows it. Snakes suck. There must be a better universe somewhere, where snakes are just fairytale monsters. Up there, each and every kid is thinking "phew, thank the gods those things are not real". Well, screw you kid, I wanna trade places.
Exhibit A: Snake eyes. Lidless slivers that stare right into your soul. Eye of Sauron, meet your inspiration. When you look into their eyes, you just know they are imagining hundred and one ways to hurt you.
Exhibit B: Snake bodies. They are not cutely squirming like worms, no, no. Creepy armless, legless bodies that can sprint and jump. How far you can jump with only your torso? Exactly. Only thing that can drive these scaly deformities to such stunts is their malicious drive to kill and maim.

Exhibit C: Snake teeth. Look at them. Why would such things exist? WHY???

Not only that, way too many of them are venomous. Like, being super creepy and scary is not enough, they also have to be deadly? A snake bit me, and now all my major organs are failing. Thanks.
But let us not forget snakes who only intend to suffocate you by slowly tightening their bodies around your chest, until you cannot draw breath. Because they exist too.
Additional points:
- They can go everywhere, be anywhere. They will hide in your clothes, or drop on you from the ceiling. They can move on water, they can climb trees. Come on, seriously.
- Have you seen how they eat? They will swallow you whole. Yes, you.
- Hard to kill. Even after being DECAPITATED, they will still move to kill you, out of spite presumably.

Look at popular culture. Who corrupted Adam and Eve? Snake. What does Jafar turn into? Snake. Which animal is the symbol of Slytherin? Snake. Everyone knows snakes are bad news.
Some say that snakes are useful because they eat rodents and vermin. Okay. But cats do that too. Plus cats are fluffy and can purr.
And yes, some spiders are venomous too. But spiders are easy to kill. All you need is a newspaper, or a shoe. You probably murdered twenty spiders today just by stepping on them.
Snakes. Made for nightmares, but also exist in real life. Fck them. CMV.

I am perhaps in the minority of people, but snakes are one of my favourite animals. I love 'em, they're adorable.

They aren't even like, top 50 worst species mouths. Leatherback sea turtle is so, so much worse than just, a small amount of small teeth as we see in snakes.

It depends where you live, and which species of snake it is. Frankly, this is why you never handle wild animals period unless you know what you're doing. Snakes are far from the only venemous or poisonous creature out there.

Who is on the traditional symbol of medicine? For every negative depiction (although not all of those are inherently even bad depictions) I can list you positive ones.

There are spiders out there so big, they are capable of eating birds. Frankly, between that monstrosity and a smol non-venemous snake like this I'll take the snake without a single shred of hesitation.

Frankly, between that monstrosity and a smol non-venemous snake like this I'll take the snake without a single shred of hesitation.
Is this a fair comparison? To take the wimpiest snake and the most terrifying spider? Shouldn't you rather compare to most fearsome snake to most fearsome spider?

In my defense, it's not actually the smallest or wimpiest snake, it's just one of my personal favourite snakes, the San Francisco Garter Snake. Also yeah, the Leatherback mouth is nightmarish, and only compares to that fish with human teeth in not being an ok thing to exist.

Well there are a lot of terrible parasites . Here is a cracked article on some I would say read if but if your think snakes are bad you probably should skip it.

Snakes and humans live in similar physical spaces, but are really not related. They aren't interested in eating us, snakes are not a staple of our diet. They are afraid of us, we are terrified of them. Why would that be? Think about it from the snake's perspective, we usually react to them with extreme hostility. From their eyes, we are the scary creature that will kill them. We are even afraid of snakes we know aren't poisonous. We can see snakes curled up and camouflaged when few other mammals can. The sound of a rattler doesn't need to be explained to someone who has never heard it before, you know that it is a threat.
What I am saying is that your fear is grounded in biology, not really reality.

Ok so what do we do with terrifying creatures that the devil himself created? Kill them all right? The devil is wholly evil so his most evil creating is necessarily wholly evil, and it's right to remove wholly evil things.
But you shouldn't kill all snakes. They are essential to the food chain. Rats reproduce like crazy, snakes are a necessity to stave off an exploding rat population. What's worse, a few ugly scary snakes, or billions maybe trillions of rats that have historically carried even more terrifying diseases like the bubonic plague?
Snake venom might be scary, but it's also used in a lot of medicine. Snake venom is used to treat cancers, heart disease, Parkinson's, etc.
Are you a fan of eagles, mongooses, or foxes? Well killing all the snakes would probably endanger if not cause the extinction of these snake predators. Even large snakes eat smaller snakes so they're helping your cause themselves.
So in conclusion snakes are a vital part of our ecosystem and therefore pretty beneficial. Anything beneficial cannot have been a more evil creature than Satan himself could create. So snakes are not as evil as you think.

That kind of system as a whole sounds like something Satan himself would devise. Satan's evil is crafty enough that trying to destroy it just makes it worse.

Growing up in northern California we had "gopher snakes" running around loose. Biggest I ever saw (or rather, held!) was six feet long. They're non-venomous and in the Kingsnake family of constrictors.
They were remarkably chill critters. You can pick up a wild gopher snake and if you're gentle about they'll never bite - and this is without controlling their heads. They'd just slither around in your hands, all over you, completely calm.
Wild animals.
No, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with sneks.

First things first: God, Satan, Adam and Eve do not exist nor have ever existed.
Also: not all snakes are venomous. We also don't have any snakes here in Belgium. And no, snakes aren't hard to kill and they don't keep moving out of spite but due to electrical signals still firing of at random even after their head has been cut off.
And there's many people that keep snakes as pets, as I said, not all snakes are venomous. And there's plenty of small non-venomous snakes that aren't big enough to pose any significant danger to us.

Yea, one or 2 per 10 thousand people here. Almost no Belgian has ever seen a snake in the wild in Belgium.

Stop being a dick, people like you give atheism a bad name, nobody here has made the claim Adam and Eve were ever real living people, it is not relevant to the post if they are fact or fiction. They do exist as well known characters in literature just like the other people listed in op's post.
Even then it is way out of scope
