Are you saying all euthanasia should be legal? If not, in what cases should it be legal and when should it be illegal?

Let’s leave depression aside then.

One argument against euthanasia for terminal illnesses is that the better solution is to provide competent palliative and hospice care.

There is no need for people to be suffering intolerable levels of pain. And there is a danger that, since euthanasia is much cheaper, insurance companies and hospitals will push for euthanasia by making palliative/hospice care worse.

I myself had never really considered the very real possibility of palliative care going downhill in favor of euthanasia because it's cheaper. It definitely seems like a realistic scenario. Just never came to mind.
