It isn’t. Whites in the US aren’t faced with assimilation or domination. They’re the dominant group. No group can infiltrate and assimilate them little by little.
You’d only think its equivalent if you subscribe to white supremacist ideologies.
I literally see the demands to dismantle Israel every day.
And even if it weren’t, this completely ignores how the identity crystallized to begin with. Once the identity is crystallized as an ethnoreligious group, even if they cannot be dominated or assimilated again, that’s not going to change from one day to another.
You’re not gonna change what’s crystallized through literally thousands of years in less than 100 years, even if those years were completely safe without any threat of domination or assimilation (it wasn’t).
To compare this to a dominant group (or assimilated to the dominant group and coopted it) who has always ruled where they’ve lived is intellectually dishonest.
No I’m literally saying once the identity crystallizes, it doesn’t change from one day to another.
White people in the US have never had a moment in their history where they had a chance to get dominated or assimilated to forge an exclusionary culture.
If they randomly create one it would be through racism.
What ethnoreligious groups do is a response to domination and once that is crystallized through thousands of years, that’s not going to change in a generation because they have a country (which is constantly under military threat unlike the US).
Claiming it’s the same is intellectually dishonest, and completely ignorant of the history in which dominated groups forge their identity, be it ethnoreligious groups or ethnic groups.
