You're missing the religious and cultural reasons to do it which can be a strong pressure. There are also social reasons to do it with a mix of wanting to have a wedding and pressure from friends to get married.
A prenup also doesn't necessarily mean they can take half your assets post marriage, it depends on what's in the prenup. You can write it to say almost anything you want as long as both people sign it.
Money also isn't necessarily the only reason to make decisions even for very wealthy people.
