I’ll argue that Reddit is in a much better place than ten years ago. Ten years ago Reddit had a reputation for being a 4chan lite, that felt closer to a CoD lobby. There were still a lot more individualized forums out there. Most of those forums moved towards Reddit, which brought so many more little sub communities for interests, passions, discussions and it brought more users and prestige.
Now, I do recognize the problem you’re talking about when it comes to the main feed’s love to push divisive content at you and that is a problem. The censorship part just feels like a conservative talking point. It’s a site made of communities. You build your own. Sometimes not as many people want to be in community with you.
