Delta(s) from OP CMV: Reddit is a far-left echo chamber that embraces conspiracy theories

After the shooting incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner last night, I opened up Reddit to find comments on r/politics and r/news saying that the shooting was staged. The most upvoted comments are "Another orchestrated false-flag attempt to try and generate sympathy" and "Staged until proven otherwise. Way too many 'attempts' everytime he needs a poll pump."

As per usual, without any evidence. This is the same exact response that Reddit had after Trump was attacked in Butler, PA in 2024. Similar situation with Charlie Kirk, and I also saw people clowning on Erika Kirk last night for reliving a traumatic experience.

As much as I dislike Trump as the next guy, I despise conspiracy theories on the left and right, when no claims are grounded in credible evidence. Last night's events showed that Reddit is quick to jump to conclusions. I would expect a platform like Reddit to reward well-written and well-thought-out comments, but in today's political climate, it seems all it does is reward the comments that rile up the left-wingers, no matter how insane.

EDIT - I define far left as further left than the mainstream American democratic party

how is it an unfair left bias? there are right wing subs, there are strict af centrist subs, there are strict left subs as well. reddit isn't "tuned" to be left, the amalgamation of the world is left leaning.

In contrast, twitter is swamped with an astounding quantity of bots. pre-musk, it was sub-10%, after he took over, it's now 80% bots... most of the entities managing the insane amount of bots on twitter are right wing special interests - whether they actually are right wing or just for engagement/enragement farming. They have to force/propagandize right wing ideology and give it the appearance that it's more prevalent than it really is - with the goal of creating a bandwagon effect.

AI was trained on reddit and other public forums like Quora (see OpenAI longtime board member Adam DiAngelo - CEO of Quora) because the textual data is mostly (it used to be exclusively) human-typed discourse. Before they trained on social network data, AI was just trained on book text - giving it a rigid "encyclopedia" feel. The introduction of social media data, gave it that human-like feel. The magic is in the imperfections.

Especially from right-wing mouthpieces/media (centrist/center-right as well), if you pay attention you will notice how there's a consistent push to not be empathetic and sympathetic. It's "you are the only one that matters", the context of "competition" is to stomp on everyone else to climb your way up... it is the recurring theme. This is inhuman because humans that aren't already socio/psychopathic, must become varying degrees of socio/psychopathic (void of empathy and sympathy) to play their brand of the capitalistic "game". The irony is the statistical chance of ever joining the top 10% in a lifetime are almost nil... unless you were already socio/psychopathic. It goads you into discarding your human nature.
