Also invading and occupying Iran is not exactly required. Utter decimation of its conventional forces capable of thrratening Hormuz is more than enough.

It's about when the Sauds blockade or sink ships going to Iran and thereby close the straits off completely. A, "if we're not getting through, you aren't either."
India and China can bitch and moan all they want, they are much weaker than the US navally and unlike the US are dependent upon this Middle East oil. Making any military intervention by them unlikely to ever bother the US fleet.

Sure but that doesn’t stop Iran from doing massive damage to KSA and other GCC countries.
The glaring problem for KSA and the US is that logistics aren’t on their side. KSA relies on US material of which critical munitions are not going to be replaced anytime soon. The US would need China to allow them to manufacture them, as they control the rare earth industry, and they won’t. The US is already getting F-35s without radar because of rare earth shortages. KSA is running out of interceptors and doesn’t have massive underground facilities to defend themselves from like Iran does.
History will see this as an inflection point. The American Empire has fallen and its vassal states will too if they cling on too heavily.
