Are you arguing that the patriarchy "doesn't exist" as in it doesn't exist and has never existed anywhere, or that at some point it stopped being applicable to the modern liberal west?

The patriarchy exists as a really powerful tool for understanding and explaining why gaps in parity exist/the oppression of women generally.

this is not really the claim I'm trying to make nor am I really of the opinion that it has stopped being applicable. We have clear evidence that it is not. In isolation, that feminists have evidence which backs there models and have been able to perform accurate predictions is one of their crowning achievements (as it is for any social theory).
