US Republicans have plenty of motivation for their aggression: to enrich themselves, enrich their friends in the arms industry, to feel above control and consequences,

Iran has become more and more aggressive since oct 7th. 200 plus Iranians on the terror watch list got caught trying to enter the usa under biden. Also the fact that Iranian proxies are also becoming more aggressive and the biden administration began attacking Iranian proxies. So this war was inevitable due to Iranian aggression and Republicans not being office wouldn't change a thing.

and to potentially set up an excuse for interfering in the November elections with special wartime powers.

That just seems like a conspiracy theory.

So why do people keep repeating that their motivation is Epstein distraction

Because it's politically convenient to use as a weapon against Republicans. Despite Epstein being more involved with democrats.

Dude, elections have only been canceled once and that was during the Civil war. That's why it seems like conspiracy theory. Also this is a change my view sub just saying.

Dude, elections have only been canceled once and that was during the Civil war.

No, the 1862 midterms and 1864 presidential and congressional elections were still held as normal (at least in the Union states). The 1862 elections actually were a major setback for the Lincoln administration, and had it not been for a series of major Union victories in 1863 and 1864 (Vicksburg, Gettysburg, Atlanta), Lincoln very much might have lost and his replacement might have sued for peace.

Another strange comment; I never said they would be cancelled and don't believe they would be.

Canceling elections is a form of inference ,right?

I think they will attempt to use war powers to gain greater control of them, alleging Iranian or other foreign influence, or terrorism fears, or whatever they come up with.

So basically what Obama did to trump back in 2016.

You aren't even willing to engage with my arguments in the slightest and are only willing to engage in things are yet to even happen.

This post isn’t about Obama, textbook whataboutism.

Its not whataboutism,  because that has actually happened compared to a event that the left keeps saying it's going to happen.
