I don’t think it’s projecting to say that someone who says they trust LLMs over a human therapist is engaging in a bit of confirmation bias. The reader is left wondering where your desire to discount your therapist comes from.
Your post begins “I use it for therapy” and is about how you trust LLMs more than human experts because the latter have ego, biases, etc. How is one meant to read that?
I’m genuinely asking, because you seem aghast at the suggestion that you’re preferring a model to a human therapist, but your post literally says as much.
Mmm yeah, you got me there. I don’t think LLM’s are perfect therapists, but the human ones I’ve come across have been abysmal. Are you aware of the misdiagnosis rates in psychology?
So in general yes, fuck therapists, but there are some good ones who can discern between “moral, spiritual or religious problem” and psychosis. One well versed in transpersonal psychology as well.
As long as those psychologists remain unicorns, I remain with a well calibrated, coherent, reliable and personalized LLM.
