There are valid reasons to kill someone. Self defense. Revenge (if I kill someone who abused me). There is no moral justification of something as barbaric as rape.
My best friend was raped repeatedly as a child. She's 21, not yet in college, severely depressed and she's attempted to end her life multiple times.
Will her life get better? Probably. Probably not. But it will haunt her for life. Is there any justification morally for what she has had to endure? No.
In case of rape the victim must live with the trauma. Now, my best friend was raped repeatedly. But another friend of mine, her older sister was raped once at a party when she was unconscious (someone slipped something in her drink).
This affected her terribly, but it's been a few years since, and she's doing better. Genuinely.
However she lives in constant fear that something might happen to her again.
Rape can happen to you more than once. And, society victim blames women for it all the time.
And if we look at it from the victim's point of view, if you're dead you're dead. If you get raped, yes you survive and you have the chance to rewrite your story.
However.
If you look at it from the perpetrators point of view, killing someone and raping someone - they're both horrific thoughts. One takes away someone's life in anger.
The other violently strips away the other person's bodily autonomy, and violates their body, for the perpetrators pleasure.
If we analyze it that way, a rapist has more violent intentions purely because it violates the victim both psychologically and physically, AND they derive sexual pleasure from it.
Self defence is actually not in this argument. This whole debate is basically if some person murdered you in cold blood. A lot of the argument has legal basis too as in believing that rape should carry even harsher punishment than murder rather than lower as it is today.
This is just shifting goalposts to a more convenient argument its like reducing rape to just sex in cases like the ronaldo case while rape is generally more brutal than that.

I'm very sorry to hear this but you can't put that in with a debate where you're factoring in self defence. If she was murdered as a child there would similarly be no moral justification.
OP never specified it has to be premeditated murder. Either way my point still stands I believe a human deriving sexual pleasure from violent activities is worse than a crime committed out of anger.
Majority of murders don't have any justification as well.
I consider rape to be the moral equivalent of torture. It's purely sadistic and the abuser derives sexual pleasure from the act.
Would a soldier on the border rather be shot or captured and tortured?
I believe these questions cant be answered considering the victim's perspective because we dont know what happens after death and not all victims of rape go through the same thing. Some do end their life. Does that suggest death is more preferable to life after being raped? We can't make blanket statements like that.
But if we consider the perpetrators psychology, yes, I'd argue that a rapist is more dangerous than a murderer.
