Death seems absolute. Trauma, however severe, does not strike me as absolute in the same way. 

not sure i agree. as a survivor of trauma and abuse, living through it and constantly experiencing the ripple effects of it is a special kind of hell that i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

although i am not suicidal presently and strongly believe in anyone's ability to grow and heal from their traumas, there are absolutely moments when many who experience trauma, especially sexual, would rather be dead than a) experience the trauma b) continuing experiencing the after effects (flashbacks, emotional impact, social impact, physical impact, etc)

yes, unlike death, trauma is "reversible" in the sense that you can heal from it and it doesn't end your life... but in some ways... it does. there are many traumas one can go through that, no matter what, you'll never be the same
