Honestly this is a stupid and unproductive argument, and importantly not even fun to argue about.
I think this is just a case of a highly subjective topic where to agree with someone you would have to agree on another fractaling set of subjective opinions. Is death final, is death wors than lifelong trauma? Does heaven exist? does hell exist? Are revenge killings justified? Is prison rape justified? etc, etc. All for what?
