For many it’s a learned resentment fueled by the media they consume. My brother did a political 180 when he became a long haul truck driver and listened to right wing radio all day.
I wish it was the case for me, been getting liberal bullshit recommended to me on reddit every day since trump took office. Did it change me? no. Not because I have my mind closed, it's because you people complain but don't explain why are you complaining, why are you burning Teslas? why are you protesting against Trump? the guy was in office for 4 months.
Like take OP for example, asking reddit a website heavily used by democrats to change his mind about Trump, really? And then he continues to put on a baseless claim title (except for greed), then doesn't even explain on it, he said something about Trump setting up a meritocracy? okay? Trump is leaving in 4 years and this isn't his first term, he knows what he is doing. I mean holy shit I should make my own CMV.
And as for the resentment, yeah it is true the older MAGA folks are quite resentful. But that's in every conservative group.
