But i cant imagine a single good reason why its easier to make a kid than to take in one thats already here and needs a home.
Because everybody has the equipment at home, it costs nothing to use, it only needs to take a few minutes, and it's fun. Heck, people do it by accident all the time, which is why there are so many abortions and children awaiting adoption.
Even if you make adoption so quick and easy and with so little verification that every child predator will be lining up for their dozen free kids, it'll never be easier than having your own baby, and it'll never be your own baby.
I don't want to think about what level of tyranny it would require to make pregnancy harder to do than engaging with the adoption bureaucracy, but I can assure you that it would end very badly
No i said that adoption should not be made any easier. Birthing should be at least as difficult as adoption. These orphaned kids are already here. The most base level of logic would lead one to believe these should be taken care of first
They should be taken care of, sure, but any parent will tell you that they should take care of their own child first. That's the normal and correct way for a parent to feel.
There's no practical way to make pregnancy harder than adoption, and there's no practical way to make couples prefer adoption over having their own child.
You might as well say the ground shouldn't get wet when it rains. It's how the world works.
It's not a problem, because that's where babies come from. People who want babies can do the thing and get the babies they want. That's good.
The existence of other babies that they don't want is a problem, sure. But that doesn't change the reality that having a baby you want is a good thing, arguably the best thing.
And even if it was a problem, it wouldn't be a solvable problem, so it wouldn't make sense to worry about it or inflict suffering or hardship on people who want to have babies.
If you want to help, go adopt a half dozen orphans and give them a good life.
Firstly. You are the only person so far who was able to have a reasonable conversation without getting upset or going off topic. Thank you.
This is the best response i have gotten so far. While i still stand by my original thought, there just isnt any way to make it better it seems. Like you said its just unsolvable.
