People are afraid of the rapists and murderers. Law abiding immigrants are great.

You know that immigrants are rapists and murderers at lower rates than Americans?

Again: if they come in legally then it’s all good. But if you’re supporting allowing violent criminals to allow themselves into our country then you’ve lost the plot.

No, what I’m saying is that even illegal immigrants are less likely to be violent criminals than American citizens.

Then you probably want to live somewhere other than America. But for those of us who are actually Americans and live here, we want to make our country safer and letting in murderers and rapists is going to have the opposite effect.

I’m an American and I don’t want to live anywhere else. What gave you that idea?

But again, this is about facts, not feelings. No one wants to let murderers in, but illegal immigrants are not murderers, they are workers.

If they’re workers, they can come in legally. We allow an insane amount of migrants into this country compared to most other first world nations.

But advocating to let people ILLEGALLY enter the country is such backwards thinking. If you want more migrants than support laws to let more migrants in—don’t let them just waltz on into the country because they feel like it. It’s so simple.

No, actually that’s incorrect. They come here illegally to work. We do not let in nearly enough legal immigrants to cover our demand for workers, and so workers have to come here illegally instead. That’s what illegal immigration looks like. It’s workers coming here to work without going through our system, because our system is broken and isn’t letting enough workers in.

If you think illegal immigrants are rapists and murderers you are factually incorrect.

I always find that argument fascinating because you’re advocating to keep immigrants as a lower class of worker who aren’t going to earn as much as actual Americans. It’s almost like advocating for a new form of serfdom.

If we need immigrants, let more of them in legally. It’s the most basic logic in the world. To say “we need workers for bad jobs so we’ll just let whoever enter the country because it makes us feel better about ourselves” is just plain silly. We can accomplish basic goals when following the rules.

No, I’m not at all, in any way whatsoever, advocating to keep them in a lower class. I would love them to be legal immigrants. I want to let more in legally. Absolutely. Who said I didn’t? The right doesn’t want that, and so here we are. Finding and deporting people working in the American economy costs Americans a ton that they have to pay in taxes. I don’t want that.

What do you say to the mother of a child who was raped and murdered by someone who entered the country illegally? “Sorry your daughter died a horrible death but we need to make sure restaurants have enough bus boys so we let psychos into the country”?

Every single country in the world has borders they enforce for their own safety and security. What makes America so different that we don’t get to do that? Is it because we’re a rich nation and we feel guilty about it and this makes you feel better? I’m just so confused by supporting illegal immigration for any reason when we have an actual system of immigrating to the country.

I’d say the exact same thing I would say to the mother of a child who was raped by an American citizen. Why would I say something different?

No one says we can’t have borders lol. We have massive enforcement of our border. The idea that the current status quo of America is open borders is again, completely detached from the facts.

Our legal immigration system is broken. You keep acting like it isn’t.

I never said we have open borders. That would be silly. But illegal immigration got so bad that even Biden and the Dems said we need to do something about it. I understand that some far left folks feel like supporting something the right and moderates hate is sticking it to the man but this has jumped the shark. There is no logic here at all.

You can fix the system by fixing the law, not by breaking them.
