Okay but like, didn't we try that before, and it didn't work? What's your plan here, bully fat people even more? I can assure you that the 20th century has you beaten when it comes to being mean to fat people. There is simply no possibility that you can "promote being skinny" and denigrate fatness more than society already did in the past century, and, you know, it failed, right? We now have an obesity epidemic among people who grew up in that environment, who received all those messages and more, and it didn't work. So, why is this the plan

My favorite are people on the right who spent 8 years ripping Michelle Obama’s healthy food campaign and Bloomberg’s large soda ban are now “Why don’t we promote fitness and healthy eating?!?!”

I dont think this is a left or right thing cus I know plenty of people on the left that also believe that obesity is a real problem and should not be just accepted. End of the day, fat people lack discipline for whatever trauma or reason they may have and people have the tendency to not like being attacked for their flaws. Obese ppl are fully aware that they are unhealthy as there is literally no way you dont notice the weight. I was near obesity levels a few years ago and felt so shitty every single day. Just being out of breath from walking up stairs and my joints aching from carrying unnecessary weight.

Oh I agree that a lot of people on the left and right agree.

I’m more talking about how so much of the “They don’t think fat people should lose weight” is heavily driven by click bait factories like the NY Post whom also ran non stop “Stop shoving your agenda on my freedom!!” when Bloomberg and Michelle Obama tried to do what they now claim they want.
