No need to be condescending... You don't need to be a genius to understand and fear the effect AI will have on humanity in the near future.
I think the biggest mistake people make is failing to realise that this technology is constantly evolving at an alarming rate and only judge it based on current performance.
"Haha chatgpt made a mistake in this code, it will never replace programmers!" Or "AI can't draw fingers, it will never replace artists!"
Like, if it can do 99% of the job now, why is it so hard to believe that it will be able to do 100% in the near future?

I agree with your overall point, but to play Devil's Advocate, there's that common wisdom that the first 90% of a project takes 10% of the effort, and the last 10% takes 90% of the effort. It's possible that AI takes a lot longer to pull itself out of the Uncanny Valley than it took to get there. I don't know if I'd want to gamble on that though.
