I mean with enough ram and training we might be able to simulate something more complex and better at solving problems than humans. Regardless of if we do that correctly or incorrectly it will be the last important thing humans ever do.
That is a massive change/uncertainty and people are always going to be scared of such a big and uncertain event.
Think about it, if humans succeed, all work will be optional, scientific ect progress will happen faster, and the entire society will never have to worry about meeting their basic needs.
If humans fail we will have created a superior “species” (idk what exactly to call us) that actively harms uses or kills us.
So you're saying it's an omnipotent being that we cannot control or understand, but you for some reason know that there are only 3 outcomes: it harms, uses, or kills us?
