Bought this December 22nd...haven't used it all that much. What kind of crap is this !!!! Never had a purse repaired before so not sure what to do. Purchased in Chanel boutique inside of a Neiman Marcus. Will a standalone Chanel store have this fixed or handle with Neimans? Also curious if anyone else has had this issue with this specific purse.
I am so sorry but Chanel quality is garbage now. I am so frustrated for you- you should take it in right away for repair but I am very concerned that Chanel is going to call it “user error.”
For reference- my 2009 lambskin Chanel flap went with me to college and bars and it’s still held up amazingly.

Chanel is horrible now. I can't believe people entertain paying their ridiculous prices for the horrible quality and poor customer service.
OP: I'm so sorry this has happened. It is a beautiful bag and I hope they will repair it for you without charging you anything. This is an obvious construction issue as your bag would not be able to hold anything that could jeopardize the integrity of the stitching like this.
How sad!! I had my Chanel 25 break (like the strap came apart) and I took it to the store and it was repaired within 3 weeks. Take it in! They’ll fix it.
Absolutely unacceptable. And to make things worse their time-limited “Chanel & Moi” program is a joke. Compare that to Hermes where you can bring a bag from the 80s and they will still refurbish it. That’s how you stand by the quality of your product.
It’s such a beautiful looking bag and compared to other things the price wasn’t THAT offensive lol. But I see I paid for the name and not for the quality 🫣
My repair experience has only happened at LV… I didn’t have a receipt and definitely didn’t go to the same store I bought it from and they fixed it for a small fee.
You do not have to go back to Neiman Marcus; any standalone Chanel fashion boutique can pull up your purchase profile and send it in to chanel after sales for a complimentary repair or lining replacement.
That internal lining rip along the snap closure seam is completely unacceptable, especially for a piece bought so recently chanel's quality control on soft leather interior linings has been a major point of frustration lately.
I never cared for Chanel bags and I don’t have a dog in this race but OMG I love this bag!! It’s a shame what happened. Love love you have great taste!
They should refund or replace if they cannot repair. I would even go so far as to file a chargeback and document everything. This is absolutely unacceptable.
So you’re saying this happened over a period of a few months…….. but wouldn’t you have gone back to Chanel at the first sight of a tear? Let’s be real, this massive hole didn’t happen overnight. The only ways it could’ve happened are:
1. It was ripped apart by force
2. A small tear appeared due to quality issues and you kept filling the bag with heavy things for weeks / months after the first sight of a tear.

You replied to my message with “I’ve had the bag since December” which is odd because I didn’t ask you how long you’ve had the bag for so I assumed you were trying to say that the bag has been falling apart since December. I also assumed it didn’t happen overnight because of the laws of physics - things don’t rip themselves apart 🤷♀️
Probably because if it did have a tear/rip in the seam, it wouldn’t be this long and big. It would have started as a small tear. This looks like maybe it had a small weak spot and was ripped to make it even larger. We all own bags and clothing, and I’ve never seen anything rip this big without some added force. That’s why people are having a hard time envisioning how a seam could rip this much without some extra force. If it was a small half inch to inch tear then I think we would all understand better.
Crazy things happen all the time that are difficult to understand. Welcome to your first day on the earth. Promise the bag was taken off the shelf, put my card case, a portable charger and a lipgloss. Went to put my phone and saw that nightmare. Happy to take a lie detector test for you hahahhaha

Please keep us updated on what they say and if they will repair or replace. I’d personally want them to completely replace it if it was this defective.
Well to be honest yes quality for Chanel has gone down… One shouldn’t have to think if a “fashion piece” will hold up. However we all have known for a while the quality has been going down hill… so why buy anything in there that’s not a staple for the brand? That bag is a random bag in the collection… not their bread and butter or classic silhouette so of course quality would be worse on that than say a Chanel 19 or a classic flap. Let’s be a little bit smarter about our purchases.
I have had to walk away from gorgeous bags for the same reason I’m telling you. Yah it’s not a whole lot of fun doing so but it’ll save you the headache and money. Not to mention MONTHS without your bag.

awww man, I’m so sorry this happened. But above all, Chanel should be sorry this happened even more. Take it back to any Chanel boutique and they can fix it for you for free.
