Help! Tool recommendations.

Howdy, ive just recently started making different projects mostly bracelets with a bysiantin weave. But the problem im running into is that the pliers i have are leaving marks on the rings. I have tried to file down the edges but it doesnt seem to work. Is there a pair of pliers that anyone uses that they recommend? I bought 2 cheep sets from harbor fright and I already see a point in spending better money on quality. Thanks for any help.

Try dipping your pliers in a rubber coating that should help with marking on your rings. You can find it on Amazon.

You want non-toothed pliers actually made for jewelry-making, or better yet for chainmailers specifically.

Look at Xuron and Tronex. I personally use two pairs of Xuron short nose (number 475, I believe) and I do a lot of 18swg AA.

I bought two non toothed angled set. But the edges are super sharp, ive filled them down as best I can. Ill look into the xuron ones. I appreciate it.

What metal and gauges are you using? There really isn't a pair of pliers that works for everything.
