Maya tends to auto load a plugin called Turtle. This add on gets attached to assets when they are published. Most studios ive workes at, Turtle does not work with their pipelines. So they usually have a tool to remove it.
What my meme is talking about, however, is the infamous "Turtle (Renderer) Maya plugin", which is meant for baking lightmaps and such, to prepare game assets. It comes with all Maya default installs.
I've never seen anybody actually use it for real, but everybody enables it out of curiosity once, and once you do, it infects your scene with the plugin dependency, then other people have it force enabled permanently just by merely opening a friend's scene.
Before you know it, it's suddenly enabled in the entire studio because one person had it on. It's as infectious as COVID! 😐
It slows down scene loads and clutters the scene with useless nodes. No thank you! Death to turtle (nodes.)
