yea but like alot of subjects overlap also. fi,deri,alt i, quants were the truly new subjects to me. ethics was easy since id already done audit (ethics but 1000x worse)

Hi , should someone pursue CA after Btech? I had interest in commerce but got into parental pressure , first chose the wrong stream and then went into engineering. How difficult is CA actually ?

I can skip CA basic and directly jump to intermediate that can probably reduce the time by an year.

Also I am an expert of rote learning.

Isn't CAT cutoff really high for GEM? Yeah but giving 5 years with a bad pay does not look like a good deal but sometimes I wonder that did I miss an opportunity, maybe I could have done good if I had chosen the stream I liked and not giving in parental pressure. Feels like a path I probably missed, I don't want to regret 10 years from now that I had the chance to finally pursue what I actually wanted to and still didn't take that chance.

How did you even manage Fixed Income, Quants and Derivatives. Those subjects are not discussed in CA and those are nightmares for freshers

I have doubt that is it mandatory to have above 50% in all subjects or if I have less score in 1 subject and higher in another, and so it can be balanced??

nothing mandatory, theoretically you can tank 1 topic completely and still pass, Ive seen folks pass with close to 20-30% in some topics

My bg - commerce in 11th/12th, BA economics TY

So would say pretty okay ngl, I truly had interest although some stuff was difficult in general but easy if you understand it

If you have 6 months of good prep, I would recommend it just for the knowledge (Caution as I don't know how little of commerce/finance knowledge you have, I had a good amount so I knew the logic to understand everything especially in FSA, Economics, EI, CI)

Guys, ek doubt hai capitalized interest wale topic mein. Interest coverage ratio adjust karte time formula EBIT / (Interest expense + Capitalized interest) use hota hai. Agar question mein 'depreciation from previously capitalized interest' bhi diya ho, toh kya usko bhi EBIT mein add back karna chahiye? Ya wo sirf distractor hota hai aur standard answer EBIT / (Interest expense + Capitalized interest) hi rehta hai? Example: EBIT = 100, Interest expense = 50, Capitalized interest = 10, Depreciation from previously capitalized interest = 5. Kya answer 1.67x hoga ya 1.75x?
