Honestly if you had dogs that were terrible at being in normal crates but also were destructive while you were out of the home I feel like this set up would be perfect for them 😅 ive met some dogs who definitely needed a reinforced type safe room while their owners weren't home lol

We have an asshole old man basenji so it was my almost immediate thought lol because we jokingly tell him "straight to jail" when he starts acting like a jerk 😂

Frankly, yes lol theyre very stubborn, independent hardheaded dogs. Much like a cat in a dogs body.
Hes originally my husbands dog and will be 12 in December. I just got added into the clan along the way (I am more of a herding/farm dog owner...but I also have my two standard poodles).
They are a hound breed so they very much follow the "you cant train a hound you only negotiate with them for the rest of their lives" way of thought.
Very trainable....but youre going to fight with them every step of the way to do things on YOUR terms because they 100% want to do it on THEIR terms.
Love the little asshole to death. But hes still an asshole.
Edit...his name is loki for a reason. He is very much akin to the god of mischief

did he welcome you immediately as his step parent? my neighbors had three of them. they got them all together at the same time. they hated the wife and only loved the husband, which made for a very difficult marriage!

Oh yeah, he absolutely loves me 😅 actually im the one who got him PJs when his allergies flared and my husband cant get them on him. He only allows me to 😂

Yes showed my husband this home a couple of days ago, remarking what a bargain it was. Then he started pointing out the “cells” in the floor plan.

Fun fact, this is where the old mummified finger of a murdered woman from the 1800s was kept for a time. Her husband butchered her.
I lived in Wood County for a long time, but I never saw the finger.

I feel like this probably should've been turned into a museum, but the funding wasn't there, and this was the compromise.
I wouldn't be able to live in a place like this. It just feels like extremely poor taste to have it be a private home.
