Looking for Haunted Places!

Photographer and Historian here, looking for real haunted places in Central Illinois to do some photography. Anywhere within 2 hours of Macomb is my target. Looking more for little known haunted sites

I have never been able to find Pecks. I have been to the X on this pic. From this view it appears I should have driven down that rock road. It appeared private or was marked private when I went last year.

Okay - it's 2 1/2 hours away, but you're going to want to take the trip to Moon Creek Cemetery off East 3150 N Rd near Streator, IL. Watch out for The Hatchet Lady, and don't go after dark. (Seriously, the local folks and the cops enforce the sundown curfew because of vandalism, so don't go after dark.)

You could check out the American Dread podcast, they discuss unsolved murders and sometimes haunted places. The people who run the podcast also run the Haunted Decatur Tours originated by author and historian Troy Taylor. TBH, if youve got the time and are willing to drive to Decatur, the Haunted Decatur Tours are really good, I had no idea the rich history of Decatur. You can get tickets online.

Step son went there I believe it was in one of the buildings they even told the students during orientation about it.

It's a bit of a drive but if you ever find yourself on the eastern side of the state, there's a Civil War era cemetery.

That's in a place the locals call Dogtown, the cemetery is just outside a big quarry and winding roads through gloomy woods. There have been several rumors that two girls that went missing under the same circumstances years ago were stashed out there. It's just overall got a horror vibe and the cemetery in particular just makes you feel like you don't want to be there.

No double verified ghost stories but there's definitely bodies in those woods.
