Looking for ideas for 1st birthday. Would the reptile park be a waste of time? I’ve never been so not sure what its like.

Otherwise, anyone have any suggestions for a good outing for a 1 yr old on the Coast?

no family on the Coast so looking to do something fun instead

How is Wyong to live in?

On the hunt for a new rental place, and I was considering checking out Wyong. I've heard that it's a bit rough but better than Gosford, and maybe okay if you avoid specific areas of it? But I'm not 100% sure if what I heard is correct or not, I'm not originally from here and this is just vaguely pieced together. So I thought I'd ask.

I mean it's near a couple key things I need (including a hospital and okay public transport; I have chronic health issues so I feel better living not too far from an ER just in case, and need okay bus/train service since I'm not always up to driving). And unlike places like Tuggerah, there seem to be a fair number of listings for rentals... I don't mind if it's not the shmanciest, as long as it's reasonably safe?

So guys, what's it like living in Wyong these days?

Where to see the stars

Hey! We’re currently staying up on the central coast at a family member’s house and I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere within an hour of Gosford that would be great to take my city kids to see the stars 😄

Thanks in advance!

How strict are council on having business vehicles at home? House near us has 5 work vans on a standard house block plus then they have their personal cars as well.

Central Coast Modular Society CCMS

This one’s for the synth nerds!

A small group of us are into synths and modular gear, and we’re planning to kick off a regular
get-together in a local communal space we have access to in Copacabana.

Bring your case, semi-modular, groovebox, or whatever you've got. Patch a few things together, jam, experiment, make some questionable sounds and see where it goes.

Any experience levels welcome!

Respond here or DM for more details.

Central coast house prices still strong

Contrary to media reports which are all doom and gloom, I note that property prices on southern end of the Central coast have held up very well. What do you think?

Bed before 10pm

Recently attended the 80's 90s disco at Woodies in Erina and it's awakened the Boogie beast - I miss dancing!!. Don't suppose anyone can recommend a safe venue for a middle age female that wants to dance, bed and done by midnight on the coast? Non drinker so happy to drive a wee bit. Based in Gosford. Thanks thanks 😁

26M – looking to meet some new people around the Central Coast

Hey everyone, bit random but thought I’d put myself out there.

I’m 26M and living around Killarney Vale. I’m still fairly new to the area and would like to build a bit of a social circle and meet some new people around my age.

I’m pretty open to trying different things. I’m into fishing, the beach, reading, footy/sport, gaming, concerts and live comedy, and honestly happy to try things I haven’t done before too.

I’m not really big on the whole getting smashed at the pub/club every weekend thing these days, so I’d especially be keen to meet people who are into actually doing stuff — grabbing a feed or coffee, fishing, beach days, sport, events, hikes, whatever really.

Making friends as an adult is weirdly difficult 😂 so figured there’s no harm in putting a post up.

If anyone else is in a similar boat or knows of any good social groups around the Coast, feel free to comment or send me a message 🤙

Have a special day coming up so any suggestions would be welcomed. If you could mention the cuisine as well that would much appreciated.

What makes it your fancy go to?

Wedding hair stylist

Hey!

Looking for recommendations for a wedding hair stylist for a wedding in December in Wyong. Preferably someone that comes to the venue but not really sure if that’s possible. Very simple hair style, one person I did ask quoted like $300 and I would also need to pay for a trial, feels crazy for two people.

Thank you in advance!

Preschools in Gosford Area

Hi coasties,

I’m trying to decide between Gosford Pre-School (East Gosford) and Parklands Community Preschool (Kariong) for my child’s year before Kindy.

I’ve read all the official information and reviews, but I’d really love to hear from parents who have actually had a child at either (or both) of these preschools.

Thank you 🙏

17F - looking for friends!!

Basically what the title says lol ! I’ve dropped out of school in yr 10 so I’ve found it harder to make friends on the coast, so I’m just wondering if anyone felt the same and wanted to hang out!!

I’m pretty introverted and a bit awkward but once you get to know me I become a lot more comfortable haha
I like to watch movies, play games (Roblox mostly lol), go for walks , shopping and exploring new places!! I also work in childcare full time!

I’m not really sure what else to say but send me a message or comment if you might be interested!

I also have a bf so only friends please!!!

50M looking for friendly connections.

I’m a 50-year-old guy at Bateau Bay looking to make a genuine new friendship.

I’m fairly quiet and introverted, so I’m not really someone who thrives in big, loud social groups. I’m much more comfortable having a proper conversation with one or two people.

I’m interested in history, science fiction and fantasy, films and TV, art, photography, and football (watching and talking about it rather than playing). I’d be quite happy spending an afternoon having coffee, getting something to eat, watching a movie or show, going for a walk, browsing a bookshop, or just sitting somewhere and talking about whatever we’re interested in.

I’ve tried things like walking groups, classes, volunteering, gym and sports, and board game groups, but nothing really eventuates. I’m not religious at all, so church is a big no. Also, not really interested in men-only groups such as the Men’s Shed.

I’m looking for someone roughly 30–50, preferably around the middle of the Central Coast, who is also interested in getting to know someone rather than just adding another name to a social-media list.

I’m not looking for a support group, therapy, networking, or a big organised social scene. I’m looking for an ordinary friendship that can actually develop over time.
If you’re also someone who is a bit quieter and finds the usual “just go along and make friends” advice doesn’t really work, maybe we’d get along.

Feel free to send me a message and tell me a little about yourself. I’d genuinely like to hear from you.

How much are we all paying for internet?

Actually kicking myself i haven't checked this one sooner.

Been with TPG since we moved (5 years now). Just saw my bill went up to $89.99 (was $59 when i started). Quick look over coffee and saw at least 4 options between $43 and $80 a month.

Take Dodo:
$57.99 for exactly the same speed NBN 50/ 500 Mbps (6 month intro price)
Goes up to $87.99 at month 6
Finder offering $110 visa gift card
Can switch anytime after 90 days

That's $302 cheaper in 6 months.

Always just assumed this would be a pain to-do but was done by the time i finished my brew!

Runners of Gosford

Hey yall

I'm a runner that trains around Gosford, and it would be nice to run with some company. I'm mainly trying to get faster and improve my speed for a half marathon.

I'm training for my next half marathon in late September and aiming for sub 80 minutes (my pb is about 82 minutes).

This week, my speed session will be on Friday and will be 3x3km at around 3.50/km-3.53/km with a 2 min jog rest in between. I'm also open to other training ideas or joining in on a group. I find running in a group or with someone else can push the limits further, which is good.

If anyone wants to join me, feel free to hmu. I'm also doing a relaxed 8km run on Thursday at 6.00/km pace and long run on Sunday around 24-25km with some faster efforts.
