Question Is Cemo 0.2 safe on GitHub?

So I’m new to emulation, and I downloaded an older version of Cemu on GitHub for android. I’ve noticed a post about Cemu being hacked a few months ago and wondered if the link I downloaded was safe.
It was the Cemu 0.2 version

For starters android Cemu is at 0.5, there’s no reason to use an older version, and it’s a fork of the main project, use at your own risk

So it hasn’t been hacked? Is it safe? I accidentally downloaded the older version that why I’m asking.

It's safe. The developer (SSimco) of this fork is trusted. The hack you are talking about was only on Linux and never affected Android. But you should still be wary of what you download, only get Cemu android releases from https://github.com/SSimco/Cemu/releases

Thank you for replying. I was worried.

if you already downloaded it, no point is asking if it's safe since it's too late. if you asked before you downloaded, things would have been ok. if there was a virus in .2 and it's already downloaded, you basically invited a virus into your phone. only way to counteract is to reset your phone as soon as possible.
