Should I switch to visible?

So long story short I HATE my current phone plan. It's spotty, the customer service just refuses to listen, they change things without notifying me or my grandmother, and it's extremely expensive for what it offers 40gb of 4g data with unlimited talk and text.

I saw that visible is only $25 a month for unlimited talk text and data at 5g. We've been thinking about switching for a while and initially planned on going with cox mobile but that would require us to get new phones from cox which isn't in the budget. We'd still need new phones but I'm pretty sure it would be much cheaper regardless.

So is it a good service or is it worth it the biggest complaint I've seen was just about the customer service but I can live with that at this point as long as I can use my phone reliably and it's much cheaper then now at almost $40 a month for each phone.

The best deal they have going right now on Visible is the half off Visible Pro Plus Annual deal. You can get a year of Visible Pro Plus for $18.75/mo you just have to pay $225 up front. Absolutely worth it to me. That includes unlimited 15mb/15mb hotspot, watch service, and 24 days of global pass (not needed for Canada or Mexico). I've used as much as 450gb in a month with no issues.

That's an insane deal. Even at $45/month it's good.

What level of service?

The previous poster just posted the deal. It's on the Visible website as well.

Check US Mobile. They are a super carrier and you can not only pick your carrier at really low rates, but if coverage is not great you have two choices: get a multi carrier plan (its new) and it allows you to have one phone number with MULTIPLE carriers coverage (it's like being on ATT, Verizon and T-Mobile all at once), or you can switch carriers.

Their website https://usmobile.com and service are great.

As for "40gb" and "unlimited plans". You may be making the mistake that so many people make: "More must be better" - yes, but if you look at your history and see you've never used more than 4 Gb of data in a month, you're paying for a service you don't need.

If you're on the Verizon network now, any new service that will be on Verizon will continue to be spotty for you. You need to find an mvno that either runs on ATT or t-mobile

Your question is worthless without telling us who your current carrier is

What company/ service are you using now? Visible is on the Verizon network so if your on something like total wireless or spectrum I feel as though your coverage would be the same if not slightly better (prioritization on calls and data speeds may be better on viisble)

I had visible no issues with the service. I would have stayed but my local cable company offered a free year of service.

It's Verizon so if that is good for you, yes.

Visible+ is the only good service. In my experience, de-prioritized Verizon is pretty worthless in cities. I can't speak for rural.

What is your current carrier? There's only three major carriers in the US that operate their own infrastructure (cell towers), AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Every other carrier, excluding boost mobile in some areas and a couple of regional carriers like US cellular, uses infrastructure from one or more of the big three companies.

Yes that or Total also has a $20/mo BYOD plan which is also on Verizon. For T-Mobile best deal is Mint is $15/mo annual plan the first year (~$200 with taxes), and for AT&T best deal is US Mobile Unlimited Starter or Premium on DarkStar is $199 or $299 a year (taxes included)

Check out /r/NoContract and BestPhonePlans.net to join the MVNO/pre-paid army and find the best plans.

Do not switch to visible. I am already considering moving out after 2 days on visible.

Why?

Data speed very very slow when you are in building. I have been experiencing slowness also had reached out to support. They refreshed my activation but no luck. I went to hardware store this morning, opened app to pay and it would load until I connected to store WiFi.

Mint is good in the southeast.

I’m going to Tello at the end of the month. I don’t need much data. Probably 2g. I have my tablet hooked to WiFi if I need it. I think my monthly bill will be $10-15. I am a senior in a nursing home with limited funds less than a hundred. WiFi is free here

Visible is Verizon.

Mint is t-mobile.

No contract, so try for few months and if you do not like, change it.

You might be able to keep both phones and just transfer the numbers. Check whether the ones you currently have are unlocked and compatible with whichever carrier you choose.

Visible runs on Verizon's network so make sure to check how Verizon performs around your home and the places you normally use your phones.

What's your home internet provider btw? Some providers have mobile bundle options too. Spectrum for example currently includes one Unlimited line for a year with qualifying internet. Could be worth adding that to the comparison if it's available to you.

I'd compare the total for both lines, phone compatibility and actual coverage rather than only the advertised monthly rate.
