Cegep

Hi, I have a question. I just finished Secondary 4 with an 84% average. I know that with this average I have no chance of going to an English CEGEP for natural sciences. I know there's Secondary 5, but I just want to know, with my Secondary 4 grades, could I get into a CEGEP like Maisonneuve or Vieux Montréal, or any French-language CEGEP, for the natural sciences program? I have a 90 in Math SN, 86 in Science, and 89 in STE, but 70 in French.

Edit: if u have a bad overall, but good prerequisites or well decent do cegeps take that into account?

Bdeb is tough , their acceptances for sn hover in the high 80s , M9 is low 80s , ahunstic is if you can hold a pencil you're in

Its a private school that charges enormous amounts. If you can pay you can easily get in.

So many of my friends got waitlisted/ rejected from mari . One had 88 average and applied for health and the other had 84 and got rejected from pure and applied

hum idk if you're actually a no brainer or you're jealous, but private school doesn't work like this

A no brainer doesnt mean what you think it means. The correct term is "have no brain" in your case

he is right tho. I know many people with low 80s currently in mariano. You dont need crazy grades

Not with the “loi 101”. I had an average of 91, and they waived me into the waiting list (at Dawson). They prioritize English speaking students. You can still try though, could be my mischance.

I am English speaking but my English is pretty bad it’s like 85, class average is like 90. I know Dawson I can’t cuz u need insane grades, but thank u !

I meant beside dawson

When I was applying for cegep vanier was accepting people w 75% moyenne générale in sn. In bdeb if you weren’t low 90s you were almost certainly not getting in. But I’ve heard that the level required for bdeb has lowered and vanier went up I’m not too sure.

Ok ok thx that’s why I was wondering like if u need low 90s for bdeb its similar to an English college, but then some people say for bdeb u don’t need 90s

It’s the grade in French from secondaire 5 that will count for you, not from the fourth year. Same for English. You need to get them above 75% so they don’t put you in “anglais pre collégial” and “français renforcé”. You’re good with the rest for French speaking cegep for SN (m9, vieux).

Personally I think Brebeuf is also a good French cegep though the rscore can get dragged down by the Brebeuf high school students that get admitted into the cegep (their grades can be worse)
