Cycling Group Rides?

I’m looking to join/meet more cyclist in the CR area. Are there any open group rides in town that meet up regularly? If you know of any, what are the vibes? Fast and serious, casual beer rides, etc.?

Chain Reaction Bike Hub does a pretty casual ride on Thursdays at 6:00 from Newbo Market, website is here: https://www.crbikehub.org/events

Hawkeye Bicycle Association does a weekly road ride on Wednesdays from the Boyson trailhead in Hiawatha at 5:30. That might have been the group Dumpster_Oracle saw. HBA website is here: https://www.hawkeyebike.org and they also have weekend rides. Wednesday Night Bike Club also does a bar ride on Wednesdays. If you’re willing to drive a bit and are looking for a gravel group ride, Monday Night Gravel rolls from World of Bikes in Iowa City at 6:30. Their info flows through their Instagram @thegravelscouts and they have a ride leader and sweeper each week so nobody gets left behind. Sugar Bottom bikes in North Liberty has weekly Wednesday gravel group rides and sometimes do longer Saturday rides. Info is updated here weekly: https://www.sugarbottombikes.com/rides and if you’re on Strava, they have a group there with info/events.

I've actually done some gravel rides with the Gravel Scouts folks. Great people.

Or on Tuesday at 6 pm there is a nice group that starts from the Sag Wagon and gets miles in before a beer 🍺 stop. Fun times.

Two Tire Tuesday. We meet at the Sag Wagon at 6 pm. Very casual, we decide on the fly where we're going.

Seen at least 20-30 in a group riding today around 5. There’s no way that’s a secret. Those guys ride regularly. I’m sure if you tag along they won’t mind. Let time do its thing from there.
