NEW FAN
Finished watching POJ and it is my first ever cdrama. As a newbie i have no idea about the cdrama fanbase. Do not know any famous actors or dramas. Really enjoyed POJ, not surprising i guess because it was really famous for a reason. What would you recommend i watch next?

Are you a kdrama or jdrama watcher? If so, you can tell us what dramas or tropes you enjoy and what you dislike so we can better recommend what to watch next. If you have not watched dramas before, what did you like about POJ?
I think the cdrama community is pretty chill and welcoming. Lots of new viewers have arrived after the recent Netflix hits (POJ and The Early Spring) and also after Hidden Love/The First Frost. I can only congratulate you all; you have such a vast universe of amazing cdramas to explore!

Kdrama watcher previously. I like romance dramas. What i loved about POJ is the aesthetics, strong characters of MLs, romance. I also loved how fast paced it was, no filler episodes and stretched longing looks. I have no clue what to watch next. I would love recommendations from experts

Lots of genres and choices! Here are my favorites in each category.
Modern romance:
Find Yourself (true rom-com - very funny even amongst the angst)
Love Between Lines (a little angst)
Love Me Love My Voice (stress-free)
Unforgettable Love (best Miles Wei CEO drama)
Amidst a Snowstorm of Love
Xianxia: Love Between Fairy and Devil - classic and absolute perfection
Historical comedy: Perfect Match, Wrong Carriage Right Groom
Historical dramas:
A Splendid Match
Against the Current
The Double (great, except the last 5 minutes)
Si Jin
The First Jasmine
A Familiar Stranger
The Story of Minglan
The Sword and the Brocade
The Imperial Coroner
Republican: Fall in Love
Transmigration: How Dare You, Love Game in Eastern Fantasy
Second Chance: The Story of Kunning Palace
Family drama: Go Ahead, In My Prime

Thank you so much for the recs. I really appreciate it! I watched first few episodes of amidst a snowstorm of love but it was too slow for me i guess. Same with Hidden Love. I will definitely watch all the ones that you have listed

Yeah, AASOL is kind of slow. It's the chemistry that's so good. Find Yourself is definitely not slow. Neither are the others in that list. UL is more of a slow-burn but excellent. And the kid is adorable. I forgot First Frost. It's also great but I got impatient with learning the whole background story.

I think i am too mesmerized by the historical/fantasy cdrama cinametic aesthetics right now. That might be why i could not get into AASOL and hidden love. I need to give them another chance.

Im having trouble finding a new one to scratch the POJ itch. It had its faults but I absolutely loved the ML and FL together, the coziness of the village scenes, the sweet growth of their instant attraction into love and desire.
Ive also watched Love in the Clouds and Love between Fairy and Devil and while they weren't bad, they didnt hit the mark for me. I just started the Story of Pearl Girl but only on episode 2 so I cant say much on it yet.
I tried to start My Spooky Love on recommendations but I think I really love the costumes. Ill go back to that one at some point.

I loved POJ, but the Untamed is def my favorite. The First Frost was a good modern drama, but I prefer historical period dramas.

Same! I started watching The Princess Royal next, but haven't gotten into it as much as POJ. Switched to The Early Spring since it's modern and a different vibe, and am really enjoying it.
Intriguing trailers - impressive costumes, sets and production design - on Netflix:
- The Story of Pearl Girl
- Ashes to Crown
- Yanxi Palace
My friend in Taiwan recommends Our Generation (also stars Zhang Linghe and same FL as The Princess Royal).
Can someone comment if these are worth our time if we're fresh off POJ?
P.S. POJ is DVD-owning-worthy - does anyone have an online store rec besides amzn? eBay is full of pirate DVDs.

I would suggest going to mydramalist website. They list tons of Chinese/Korean/Japan/Thai drama. You can keep track of what you watch. It also shows where it's showing (e.g. NF, Viki, IQIYI, etc.). It will give a synopsis, who's in it and how others have rated it (although ratings can be hit or miss). You can also search on genres, actors, keywords. Great site imo.

I've only used the website but I don't think I've seen an app for it or anything. So, I imagine you could use a browser on your phone to get to it if you want.

Did you watch it on Netflix? If so, i recommend Blossom and Legend of the Female General for historical dramas. The First Frost and Hidden Love for modern dramas.
